Renowned performance coach and “Momager,” Deb Drummond, recently shared the spotlight with her son, Ocean Baker, to guest lecture at Red Deer Polytechnic’s Donald School of Business. Speaking to the Innovation and Entrepreneurship class, the duo provided a unique look at the “Family Enterprise” model and the power of intergenerational collaboration.
Deb Drummond, a seasoned entrepreneur and founder of the “Momager” movement, works alongside Ocean to navigate the rapid growth of his streetwear brand, Natsukashii Ink. During the lecture, Drummond highlighted the importance of supporting young creatives and the “unforeseen moments” that define a successful startup journey.
“Watching Ocean share his expertise and teach these students was such a proud moment,” said Drummond. “The energy in the room was incredible. We were so happy to share our experiences and, more importantly, listen to the brilliant questions from these future business leaders. It’s about the legacy we build together.”
Drummond’s “Momager” philosophy emphasizes the dual role of being an intentional parent and a business-minded visionary. Her appearance at Red Deer Polytechnic underscores her mission to empower parents of entrepreneurs to channel their skills into mentorship and professional management.
